Beating the New Year ~ ALREADY LIFTING WEIGHTS!

Three days ago I signed up for a 30 day deal at the CLOSEST gym I could find; been there two times already and feeling like a 'million dollars' (whatever 'that' feels like ~ must be GOOD though)!

Walked in and said, 'Don't SELL me anything'.  I am not interested in deals ~ I am old enough to know that I need to make 'this lifestyle' work for ME, not YOU.  I don't care if I save hundreds of dollars by signing up for a year instead of 30 days - I want to see if my self-efficacy is STRONG ENOUGH to keep me in the gym to do the work I need and want to do.  I am betting it IS - so, the business is going to be the winner, in any event!

I have a strong inclination AND motivation...I watched my Mom spend the last two years of her life in bed.  That is NOT how I want to leave this Earth.

And...how many times have you heard 'If you don't use it, you lose it'? YOU DO the research - if it is important to you - YOU WILL!  It does not take a long time for our muscles to turn to marshmallows IF we are not using them every...single...day.

And...the OLDER we get - the faster our muscles disintegrate.  NOT good news, but, YOU can reverse the sad cycle.

So, I miss the gym in Kapunda.  I understand most people whinged about the prices, but no one gets it.  We don't simply pay for services or meals or gym equipment, 'we the people' pay for public liability insurance, equipment, maintenance, power and electricity, leasing or renting, and rates are added in to a 'price to do business in ANY store'.  That is simply how it is.  I was thrilled to pay for the pleasure and the privilege of using the gym.  I certainly understand why the owner had to 'move on'.  I miss The Chambers.

Wish I did not have to DRIVE any distance to work out, but The Maxwell House is tiny and not suitable for a gym room ~ it just would not work, so...OFF I GO.

And...guess what?  Anytime Fitness in Nuriootpa is QUITE PLEASANT.  IF you 'hit the gym' at the right time (the right time for you)...you may be one in five people.  GRAND.  ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN' FANTASTIC in my book.  Huge air vents up above ~ enough equipment where you do not have to wait ~ nice, encouraging music - no "BOOF-BOOF-BOOF", but the kind of music to keep you motivated, enthusiastic, and energised.  It is a clean facility and the people are nice and there is AN ABUNDANCE OF EQUIPMENT...what more does one need?

So, now I drive.  Now, I have to add the drive time to my 'work out' time in order to MAKE my life WORK.

But, if it is IMPORTANT enough to us - WE FIND WAYS to incorporate anything into our schedules.

I am getting a head start on 2020 - I am finding ways to fit even more into my life that is meaningful and worthwhile and sprinkling in some health benefits isn't too shabby either.

Now, IF I CAN FIND A WAY to stop my face turning beet RED; if I could prevent the sweating, too, that would be kind of nice.  I don't perspire; I don't 'glow'; I don't 'shimmer' - I bloody SWEAT.  And, then...when my face turns bright, beet red - I SCARE everybody to death ~ they get concerned and think I am going to pass-out (OR DIE!) in front of them.  Hmmmmmmmmm...don't think this will change in my life-time.

Haaaaaa!  Got a step AHEAD OF YOU '2020' - BRING IT ON:  I am IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT ALREADY.

Hope everyone has a tremendous New Year - PLEASE let people find their way to kindness and Peace on Earth.  We, and all the beautiful creatures, need a break from the madness.

Each of us has the power within us to create the change we want to see...and...it is much easier to be KIND than to be nasty - takes far less energy.

And...I think it is probably much easier to be 'healthy and fit' than to be unhealthy, wouldn't you agree?  Less illness - fewer doctor's bills!?!

Peace.
Blanco, the 'MORE FIT' than she was last week, Blanco!
The Roaming Stevens ~ Be safe out there - don't become a statistic in 2020.
