πŸ’‹❤😊Date night and daily living...

So, LIFE is full right now.  I am working at maximum capacity, however, I am loving every aspect of returning to university study.

There has been a change in the routine at The Maxwell House.  My charming and eccentric husband has been preparing many of his meals and...eating...alone.  He sees some of my frustrations and he hears my expressions of great joy when I complete an assignment ahead of time and receive lovely marks.

We did make plans for a big night out.  When our dear mate, Suzy, told us The Hiptones would be playing in the city, I challenged my brain and powered through many lessons in order to feel good about stepping away from study.  We met the Kapunda Gang in Wingfield, danced until our toes could handle no more, and absorbed every divine beat of the music.  I ran into and hugged friendly faces I had not seen in years.  When I closed my eyes I could see our old pub shimmying with the beat of the bass...and I was transported back to my birthplace, Memphis, Tennessee.  LazyEye was the front band and I swear, Erica, lead guitarist and singer, has a bold and secure future in front of her.

IF anyone reading this is close to my vintage, please let me share that learning new concepts is quite invigorating.  It is daunting, intimidating, frustrating, but at the end of the day I feel enriched.

So, its all been about me.  How do you think that makes me feel?  Well, sprinkle a bit of greediness in, stir it with some selfishness, and top it with a big, ole' fat bit of pride and joy.  Yesterday I woke up thinking how much Marcus does for me and how he brings life into this wonderful and very old cottage of ours and exactly what I have done for him lately ~ not very much.

I had a bottle of champagne in the fridge and some really nice, organic pineapple juice.  I poured the two together into a nice, chilled glass and presented it to my dearest as he read on the verandah.  You would have thought it was Christmas!  Then, I truly felt horrible all over again.  Why?  Because it doesn't take a lot to keep the people in your life happy.  Is it up to us to make another person happy?  No.  That is an individual pursuit.  However, I do appreciate and value when Tinto does the tiniest things for me, BUT...it IS far more fun to surprise the ones we love with little treats or unexpected acts of kindness.

Now that I am fully in the rhythm of studying again and know what is expected of me, I shall make more of an effort, beginning today.  Hmmmmm, well, I will make an enormous salad, but Tinto is going to be firing up the new grill.  I might even put on a bit of mascara and lippy, too.  Damn...that WILL be an effort!

Ciao from Blanco of The Roaming Stevens...

Roaming to your capital city is always a fun outing!   Roaming to the nearest village at Seppeltsfield can even be better!   There is always so much to do and to discover in South Australia...

PS:  Please excuse any typos.
