TODAY is the DAY to HELP Big Brothers Big Sisters...
Today is an extremely special Big Brothers Big Sisters day and I have been bombarding my own fb page all day long with the news and the instructions.
Big Brothers Big Sisters originated in the United States OVER 100 years ago and the fact that it remains so strong today is a testament to the good work these people do.
BBBS provides a 'BIG' for a 'SMALL' - a big brother or a big sister is matched with a small to provide mentorship, support, encouragement, kindness, hope, and friendship.
IF a 'SMALL' is placed with a 'BIG' does this mean the parents are doing a bad job? NO. No way ~ not at all. The parents may be struggling due to the fact they both work 2 jobs. The household may be a single parent household. A parent or a sibling could be fighting a serious illness.
You and I both know how much bullying continues in schools today. You and I know how fast-paced this world is and sometimes...just having an outside voice...an outside opinion, a strong support, a hand willing to help, or ears willing to listen...will help a child bounce back to his or her place of hope.
It does NOT take much. IF you sign up to become a 'BIG' you will be providing a child for a minimum of 3 years - an hour a week of strength, guidance, support, and hope for the future.
In order to match 'BIGS' with 'SMALLS' and do the necessary required, legal background checks...it does cost.
TODAY ~ the benevolent sponsors of Big Brothers and Big Sisters are willing to match our pledges 4 TIMES OVER.
Australian mates - CHECK IT OUT. Go to:

Crack upen that wallet - pull that plastic out and please...DO THIS FOR THE KIDS TODAY...OR DO this for my Halloween birthday. Helping these kids would be the best birthday I've ever had. I made my pledge early this morning. Won't you join me? We have almost reached our goal of $130,000.00.
Yahoo! Yay for the children. Congratulations and Well Done to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
To my American mates - look up an organisation in your area. An hour of your time a week can make a lifetime of difference to...just...one...child.
Cheers,
Blanco of The Roaming Stevens
Fighting for an organisation in which I firmly believe...
