A very special day...
Tinto's youngest daughter was born on this day. We hope she has a lovely time ahead of her and is surrounded by those who bring her the most happiness.
Tinto and I were fortunate to be married on this particular day, too, the 7th of April. He always thought it was special and a privilege to be joined in marriage on one of his children's birthdays. And...the BEST part about it was...his parents flew in from England, so that was an added 'extra' for the birthday festivities. Visits from Tinto's parents to Australia were very few and far between. I am quite certain that they would have loved to fly in for many birthdays, but due to the great, vast distance that was a real impossibility. The visits were a rare occasion indeed and happened, mostly, when a trip had to be made for business purposes and their last visit was such a long time prior to this extraordinary day. So, it was a rich and 'full-on' event when Tinto's parents made a grand entrance to Chateau Tanunda. Gordon, the very tall and handsome, Grand-Pa, stood high on a bench to start and conduct the 'Happy Birthday' song. I shall never forget that image - etched in my memory forever.
So, now...eighteen years of marriage and nineteen years of togetherness, Tinto IS the kindest, most caring, gentle man I have ever known and still, THE noisiest and THE messiest, without a doubt. I'll take it though. I will take the mess and the noise because the good certainly outweighs the bad. It is lovely to see him back in the studio painting and there will be MORE on this subject in the near future, so...WATCH THIS SPACE. Tinto is on a roll in the most wonderful way~!
It is also worth noting that it has been a year - one full year - since we returned to Australian soil. Everything feels and seems like a blur. Did it really happen? Were we really separated? Did we truly make it through the bleak and dreadful times and come through on the opposite end? YES. YES, we did. I remain thankful and grateful that I was able to be by my Mother's side prior to her death. Always, I shall have Tinto to thank for that period in my life. He was by MY side, in spirit, emotionally, mentally, and lovingly every moment I was away. Plus, Tinto knew that IF I had been on Australian soil when my sweet Mother, Judy, died, I would have been impossible to live with.
Today IS a beautiful day.
Stay in the light - live in kindness. There is too much hatred on the planet. I don't know about you, but...I have no time or energy for mean-spiritedness. Tinto is not fond of it either...
