The Barossa Beckons...
Crazy, hectic week and when I pace I cannot write. Even though writing gives me great satisfaction and makes me happy, when my mind is overwhelmed I simply cannot SIT to write; (haven't tried standing - suppose I should.)
This week I begin a new adventure ~ a new job which is such a dream come true for me that I don't think I can look at it as a job.
Why is it a dream come true? WHY am I so excited? Well, if you know me at all you know that I have loved and supported artists for about as long as I've been able to admire and understand art.
South Australia, particularly the Barossa Valley is an enticing place due to the vast amount of vineyards readily able to view, the landscape itself, the fine wines housed in some of the most spectacular and stunning wineries you will ever see and sumptuous food in abundance. Sprinkled in amongst the enormous 'Big Boy' wineries you will discover some of the best and most quaint family owned boutique wine businesses, too. So...IF you prefer the big and the flashy you can have it...IF you like quiet, more intimate spots you will be very a very happy visitor, too.
The reason I am thrilled, elated, and more than excited is because I will be not only working in a historical venue and outstanding winery, but within these grounds is a refreshing, vibrant gallery named the JamFactory. In this gallery artists are working diligently and creating in their own individual studios while visitors get the chance to observe. The first JamFactory is located in the city of Adelaide and it has attracted tourists far and wide for decades. You want a hand-made, unique gift for someone special? Some of the items you find at the Jam are one of a kind and a treasure someone can keep for a lifetime. I love that idea, don't you?
At the JamFactory in Seppeltsfield, nestled in the Barossa Valley, the gallery has been designed and created in accordance to the heritage and architecture that was already standing. The studios have been purpose built in the former 1850's stable building on the Seppeltsfield grounds. Between the winery, the restaurant, the gallery, and the manicured, designed landscape you will be simply astounded by your surroundings. Tourists have been delighted by Seppeltsfield Winery for ages, but now there is the added attraction of the artists at work and hand-made items for sale in the gallery ~ treasures! There is just an artistic BUZZ in the air - the SOUND of imagination and the essence of creating.
So to the European mates we met along the way and to each and every one of my American friends - experience South Australia - take the time out of your busy lives and travel the great distance because each kilometer you cover will be WELL WORTH IT.

The website will give you the winery experience and of course...the JamFactory website will allow you to take a peek into the gallery. Read all about the artists. TAKE TIME especially to read about a super star by the name of Clare Belfrage - ICONIC GLASS BLOWING. If you can catch her on YouTube prepare to be WOWED. You can view Clare on the JamFactory's fb page, too. GO.
It IS nice; it IS wonderful when one is appreciated for their life's experiences. My past experiences prepared me for this present thrilling stage and new adventure.
I look forward to SEEING YOU at the JamFactory Seppeltsfield - STOP WASTING TIME; stop going to the same vacation holiday spots. BRANCH OUT to OUR glorious home on the planet.
