Gundry's Hill Lookout ~ Kapunda, SA

G'Day from Kapunda!

Tinto and I are waking each and every day to a schedule of tasks...going from one room to the next and bringing Maxwell House back to splendor!

It's been a long time since I stomped up to Gundry's Hill Lookout, situated directly above Maxwell House.  Henry was ready to go.  Henry was walking me...and I TRY to hold him back, but the old boy is excited to be 'out and about' again!

I only know what I've been told...Gundry's Lookout is supposed to be where Captain Gundry managed an early copper mine.  I don't know...but, I DO KNOW that the views of the agricultural area surrounding our house are simply wonderful.  It's quiet and clear upon the hill; tomorrow I shall return and pick-up the rubbish that some (person/s?) left behind.  The place is far too pretty NOT to look after it.

In the past whenever Tinto and I had new guests visit us, we would make cocktails and take a walk up Gundry's to see the sunset.  It's quite a spectacular little spot and the views are worth every STEP.

Henry was anxious.  He was in such a hurry and the walk UP Gundry's Lookout was not what I had envisioned.  I preferred to drink in the sights, but with a big, handsome dog who wanted to experience a walk with his 'MUM' (because he had missed MANY)...I was practically jogging up the path!  Henry and I need lessons on how a dog should walk on a lead and how his owner should walk him, but I think we are WAY PAST THAT NOW.  ???!!!

So, I got a few pics before I was catapulted over Gundry's Hill!

This was around 5:00pm and the sun was low in the sky...

My happy boy, Henry, overly excited!  Ha!
Here we go...almost to the top of Gundry's!
I love this rustic, country, farming land.  I adore this pic.
 Wide, open spaces...
 Sun is shifting behind clouds...
You can really see great distances any way you turn your head.
Kapunda, our home, directly below...see the hills on the horizon?
 Peaceful and enjoyable.
 STILL VERY DRY,
 On our way back DOWN...
Sheep are normally in this paddock.  Well, hmmm...I guess I know what that means.
YES, you can have gardens in Australia.  Isn't this one groovy???
My boy is TIRED AND HANGRY!!!
Now, this is a typical Australian garden...
 Dry, but yes, still appealing!
 GORGEOUS.

 Sweet.
Typical, old style brush fencing in and around Australia; the sad and bad
news is that there are some really naughty people who set them on fire.
 I DO love this fencing.
I specifically went out in hope of getting some super pics of the grand galah birds that
hover over Kapunda in enormous flocks around 5:00pm!  The noise they make is truly unbelievable; you cannot have a conversation.
They are a sight to behold once they land in the trees, but, TODAY...Henry spooked them.
Cheeky.  Henry.

Posted with adoration of this lovely
spot on Mother Earth.

Blanco, busily buzzing around Maxwell House
with smiles, watching Tinto work his MAGIC.
