A Perfect Day.

Not many days begin simply and turn into something magical, but that is exactly what happened this last Saturday.

Tinto and I headed to Hahndorf for a very exciting new art exhibition for our enormously talented, dear mate, Alison Mitchell Hannaford.  WHAT A SUPER STAR.  WHAT A REAL TREAT. Google her name.  IF you are a true art lover and/or investor - prepare to be 'WOWED'!  (See pics below.)

Where is Hahndorf?  Southeast of Adelaide and approximately 2 hours from home AND it IS the land of tourists.  Can't help it - Tinto and I avoid it like the plague and only visit when we have international guests.  But, that doesn't sound very nice, does it? We had completely forgotten how absolutely charming Hahndorf can be! 😊

Tinto took the back route.  We picked up a great mate and headed towards Angaston.  Tinto was our charming chauffeur.  He drove the entire way through every back road imaginable.  The route was exhilarating.  We have a renewed appreciation and admiration for this outstanding part of the world.  South Australia is picturesque - absolutely pleasing to the eye - EYE CANDY.  We experienced rolling hills and valleys, vineyards as far as the eye could see, sheep, dairy cows, a kangaroo (appearing a bit lost or confused!), then we drove past apple and pear orchards on roads that wound around like snakes - each of us acting as if we were seeing South Australia for the first time.  It IS just THAT beautiful.

For me the day was magic because we ran into people whom we have not seen (for years) and we got to celebrate Alison's special day together.  I have NO clue what a family reunion feels like, but THIS day had to be close.  You know those moments when the energy in the air is vibrant, loving, and you sense a real appreciation of life?  THIS day, this gathering, this exhibition had all of these elements.

Some days you don't want to end.  It was sad to say 'Goodbye'.  But...it leaves one looking forward to the next meeting with jubilant anticipation - well, at least for me!

Take a small glimpse into Alison's exhibition and Hahndorf, the Happy Place - everyone was smiling and I have NEVER seen so many people converge on one town.  GOOD for South Australia!

THE DIVINE ARTIST, ALISON.
WHAT A GREAT DAY TO BE HAD BY ALL!

Pics will never do these perfect paintings justice.

If you go near Hahndorf Academy...take the time to view this exhibition.

The Alpaca Shop in Hahndorf has lovely, authentic items.
Well....hmmmm...I suppose as long as they are by FRAN! 😎

Can you SEE the beautiful emus?
I asked the proud owner if these were Labradoodles...and he replied, 'One was a BIT of a Bitzer!' 😎🤣😁

Some brilliant and captivating Aboriginal artwork down the road from Hahndorf Academy...

This is astounding in person to view.
