Taxes and trips...

When you leave a country rather urgently, there are some matters you don't think about - or well, you don't consider instantly.  Taxes, for instance.  Filing.  Taxes.  Didn't enter my psyche until the subject matter was forced upon me.  Of course, we knew we HAD to do so, but....WHEN, HOW?  The days and weeks since we've returned have been ultimately filled with hunting and gathering purposeful pieces of paper for our profoundly accurate accountant.  We did it.  We have provided all necessary documents and, WHEW...a weighted
anvil has been lifted from our shoulders.  Admin work, sorting through mountains and boxes and suitcases of paperwork and receipts is terribly tedious.  TASK COMPLETED.

We've either been digging for receipts or running to Adelaide for appointments - one or the other.  I enjoy becoming acquainted with the city again and I love the progress SA is making on our roads, too.

Anyone out there doing any major reupholstering soon?  DO your research - due diligence counts in home improvements, too.  Don't get lazy or complacent (well, please, do what you want to do!), BUT, if you are looking to save some dosh - GET quotes.  The responses will simply blow your mind.  The pricing for reupholstering is as different as the colours in a rainbow.  You will be astounded!

Taking a break from a sweet and lovely weekend which produced warm and wonderful new memories for The Maxwell House.

Thank you for your private and/or public messages for the kind words of support regarding the anniversary of the death of my Mom.  Hurdle.  Succeeded in seeing it through because 'I Get By with a Little Help From My Friends.'   Truly.  Sharing a meal and raising a glass does absolute wonders for the spirit and the soul.

We were wearing our Tinto & Blanco hats and enjoying the sun in the city. The drive from Adelaide to Kapunda was delightful AND a brisk walk with Henry always enhances the mood.  This country has such a good feel to it ~ COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!

These pics are completely backwards ~ we started at the end of the photos and I finished at the beginning, but...you get that some days!

Sometimes the videos open; sometimes they don't!
I made these specifically so you could
hear HOW LOUD it gets around sundown!
I do hope they open ~ funny...AND NOISY!
SPECIAL VIEWS FROM GUNDRY'S LOOKOUT ~ always.

 Peace.
Out for a BIG STOMP before it gets too dark...
Henry is in control.
Always surprising when Mr. Moon appears before sun has departed...
On the way back to Kapunda...
This beautiful art lined the highways before I departed.
I adored it and it made me smile whenever we drove past.
Very special when the sun shines through the metal.
I asked Tinto for a fence surrounding The Maxwell House just like this.
His response:  THE LOOK.  I don't think we're going to have one...
Oh, Lordy, No...I stay away from HONG FAT.
NO FAT B.B.Q.  NO WANT HONG FAT...
'Jack Spratt could eat NO FAT'...(I am teasing; I'm sure it's a GREAT PLACE.  I will never know.)
Adelaide has a Doll Hospital.  Is this not THE sweetest?
I never knew.
Winter, yet the sun is warm on our backs
and divine.
This is how we celebrated after negotiating some
pretty cowhide cushions and a sofa sleeper and 2 dining room chairs to be recovered
~ Tinto & Blanco ~
up to our old tricks!

Posted not in real time, but posted with appreciation of this gentle, rolling land called Kapunda and a genuine admiration of Adelaide.

Hope your week is filled with love and grace.

My goal these days is to live simply, without real or imagined stressors, and to learn how to relax.  It's harder than I thought it would be.  My shoulders are always UP BY MY EARS.  WHY?  WHY?  Ha!  On that note ~ catch you later.

PS:  Please excuse any typos.
