More of Cordoba, Spain - Happy New Year!
Cordoba, Spain was a vastly important Roman city and lies in the Southern region of Andalusia. Cordoba was a major Islamic centre in the Middle Ages and is home to exquisite architecture such as the La Mesquite Mosque; 784AD. This magnificent mosque became a Catholic Church in 1236.
(NOTE: Stevie Wonder is singing in the background - 'I just called to say I love you!' - This is what I sing to my daughter when forced to leave messages! Ha! See? Music distracts me.)
Experience the Calahorra Tower, a Medieval Gate Tower and photos of the La Mesquita Mosque. Motorhome park located 4 - 5 minutes from this colourful, historic old town. ENJOY.
APOLOGIES! Tinto has appeared in Reception (only space w/Wi-Fi) and announced 'Time to hit the road, Blanco.' Pics need rotating and I want to add some captions...Gheeeeez... :'(
Stunning steps!
Sweet sidewalks...
ART in tiles...in the roads! Astonishing!
The most divine town centre sculpture we have seen thus far.
Fabulous Roman bridge - more later.
My ride of choice, too!
Busy, warm town centre.
Ancient Roman ruins unearthed in Cordoba.
Warm, attractive colours and more murals. I fell in love with these 2 buildings.
Tinto checking out the architecture.
More of town centre...
Exquisite exterior walls of Mosque...
Look at the textures and lovely colours.
Pic does not do justice; gold door is absolutely brilliant and bright.

Door. Door. Door. We are pleased.
Mosque surrounds this centre.
Centuries old. Ancient buildings so much more beautiful than new (to me).
Second tier = 12 bells. First tier = 4 bells. We did not experience the sound???
Detail. Always.
I can only imagine how long it took to carve this...
Ancient fountain...
Tinto holding up a Roman column!
Cordoba - excellent. Tomorrow we cross the bridge.
